Underfloor Heating Vs Radiators
Underfloor heating is the closest to an ideal heating system.

Underfloor Heating vs Radiator

A) Underfloor heating warms gently from the ground up.
B) Radiators push hot air up whilst cooler air drops, resulting in less even heat & unwanted draughts.

Benefits of Underfloor Heating

Easy to Install

Our electric underfloor heating systems are extremely simple to install. The preparation of the floor and laying of the mats can be done by anyone, it is only the wiring that needs to be done by a qualified electrician. Rayotec make it even simpler by offering a free layout design service for all projects that require one.

Inexpensive to Run

As the heating mats are thermostatically controlled and installed directly under the flooring, warm up time is not only fast but running costs are minimised.

More efficient than radiators

Unlike radiators, underfloor heating produces consistent even heat where you need it without cold spots. Radiators rely on boilers, which (even with modern condensing models) are fairly inefficient and require regular maintenance.

Can provide primary heating

Rayotec's electric mats are sufficient to provide the sole source of heating for most rooms.

Suitable for use under most floor finishes including carpet & wooden floors

Our Webtech range of mats and loose cable are ideal for most bonded floors and our Rayoflex and Rayomax mat kits can be laid directly under any floating floor such as laminate, engineered or real wood flooring and carpet.*

Suitable for wet rooms
All Rayotec systems are earthed and can be installed in both dry and wet rooms.

*Maximum Carpet tog 1.7 & Underlay tog 0.8. Maximum wood thickness 18mm, or warm up time will be slowed and output greatly reduced. Wood cannot be nailed or stuck down.

Mr and Mrs Seymor

John Hill , installed electric under floor heating in his kitchen

Jeremy Hickman, installed electric underfloor heating throughout his house

Fab! Most excellent service from abled personnel

Tony Woodland, Electrical Engineer

Our floors are mostly 18mm solid oak and the broad electric ribbon spreads the heated floor area and gives a more rapid 'warm up'. Pre-finished, engineered strip oak flooring is loose-layed and has remained tight.

P Lea, Lincolnshire (electrical engineer) purchased Rayoflex for his own home and said:

I looked at the spec on-line and it was as good, if not better than, the big brands and for a better price. Very reasonably priced. I love the touchscreen thermostat that comes with the kit, great value. It laid perfectly, the connections are good and it was an absolute doddle. The delivery was all on time, superb! An excellent service.
