Key Components: PV system, Solar thermal panels
Mr Pettinger lives in a 4 bedroom detached home in Kent. He decided to purchase a 3kW system (18 panels) to add to his already 'eco' home of solar thermal panels to become less reliant on utility companies. He states:
Having sold off our public utilities by the Thatcher outfit of H.M.Q.E II's parliament, we are at the mercy of the foreigners. With solar heating we retain a little bit of independence and it helps to keep power bills constant allowing for inflation.
He found the installation team 'very good and knowledgeable' and told us that the system is 'easy to use'. At current time he feels that electric companies are buying back the electricity for as little amount as possible, but we are glad to inform him of the new feed in tariff coming into place early next year.
We asked why he chose to work with Rayotec and he said
Rayotec, from enquiries elsewhere seemed to be the best available. The order process from initial contact to completion was straight forward.
Finally we asked if there were any further comments they would like to make/improvements to be made and he replied with a request for improvement on information from power companies.
Thank you Mr Pettinger for the feedback. The good news is that all PV owners will be happy to hear that the prospect new feed in tariff starting will enforce that electricity is being sold back to the grid at a much great rate of approximately 36.5p/kW. What ever electricity that is produced and used by the household will also be earning money!
